Dinner roll club sandwiches
This miniature club sandwich recipe is a crowd pleaser and a great recipe for kids! And since they’re small, you won’t feel bad about eating 15 of them! Okay, not 15. Only because this recipe only makes 12. I’m cutting you off at 12.
INGREDIENTS
One package of dinner rolls (usually has about 12 — can be Hawaiian rolls, Sara Lee Artisan rolls, etc.)
Slices of cheese (I chose colby jack, but you can pick your fave!)
One package of thick-cut bacon
Luncheon meats (I chose turkey and ham — you do you!)
1 Roma tomato, sliced
Lettuce
Mayo
Honey Mustard Dressing
INSTRUCTIONS
First, slice the dinner rolls so that you have a top half and a bottom half. Don’t separate the 12 individual rolls, just leave them attached, but as a large top slice and bottom slice. Does that make sense? Two pieces of bread.
Cook the bacon and set aside. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In an oven-safe skillet, put the bottom half of the dinner roll and turn the heat to medium-high.
Add a layer of cheese to the bottom half, followed by a layer of the luncheon meat. Next, add the bacon, another layer of cheese, and drizzle the honey mustard on top. Since the stove is on, the sandwich will warm, the flavors will start to fuse, and the cheese will begin to melt. YES!
On the top half of the dinner roll, add the mayo and spread evenly. Then stack this on top of the towering sandwich you’ve made in the skillet.
At this point, the oven should be preheated. Put the sandwich skillet into the oven until the cheese is fully melted — approximately 5 minutes.
Once the cheese is melted, take the skillet out of the oven and add the tomato and lettuce layers to the sandwich.
Carefully move the sandwich to a cutting board, put a toothpick all the way through each of the 12 dinner rolls, and cut along the dividing lines. If you’d rather cut it in the skillet, that’s okay too — whatever is easiest for you.
Now you have 12 dinner roll club sandwiches. Transfer each of the sandwiches to a large plate or serving tray, add a few quartered pickles, and eat!
